Since the founder Leif Johansson started our company in his youth,
he has been driven by the vision of being able to guarantee the fine quality our boats catch all the way home to the customer, in other words delivering the fish almost as fresh as the moment it comes out
of the sea.
Today we can say that technology, a willingness to innovate and the knowhow it has taken our employees several generations to build up have given us the necessary basis to attain this aim.
The Astrid Group consists of the parent company Astrid Fiskexport, our own ultramodern fishing vessels, and Jonils Åkeri, a haulage firm with the latest tankers and temperature-controlled vehicles, specialising exclusively in food transportation. The construction of our new reception facility in the spring of 2000, one of the most modern of its kind anywhere in Europe, has completed the vision of being able to handle fish in an unbroken chain, from the sea to our customers.
We specialise primarily in herring, sprats and mackerel, but we have also had other assignments which we have been able to accomplish due to our way of working where the focus is on the needs of our customers. We are guided by concern for our customers and being able to deliver the highest possible quality, and this permeates work throughout the chain in our group.
From the sea, where our modern fleet fishes, to unloading at the facility, care in handling the fish, the work of the sales unit, to delivery by our unique specially-built tankers or temperature-controlled vehicles, our work is governed by the needs and quality requirements of the customer.
